Morton Rentals Receives MicroGrant for ExpansionTuesday, October 1, 2013
Morton, IL - Today, the Morton Economic Development Council announced that Brad Kniep, Owner of Morton Rentals, has been awarded a Morton MicroGrant. “Helping local businesses to expand and add new employment is an important part of the Morton MicroGrant,” said Jennifer Daly, CEO for the Morton EDC. “Brad has done an outstanding job building a successful business in Morton and we are excited to help him continue to grow.”
Brad and Amanda Kniep opened Morton Rentals in September of 2011, providing the rental of equipment and special event items to the community and region. Over the past two years, they have seen their business continue to grow. “The biggest problem we have right now is that most of our work happens on the weekends,” said Brad Kniep. “Nearly every weekend, rentals are turned down because we run out of trailers that we would use for the delivery of our inventory.”
The Morton MicroGrant of $2,500 will help Kniep purchase a large enclosed trailer. “With an additional delivery trailer we will be able to accept more rentals, which will further the need for additional crew,” said Kniep. They are anticipating hiring 2-5 new people to assist with rental business generated by the new trailer.
“We are very excited to be operating within such a great community with great resources such as the EDC,” said Kniep. “We anticipate the ability to create additional jobs at Morton Rentals with the assistance from the Morton EDC MicroGrant funds.”
The Morton MicroGrant is a special fund created by the Morton Economic Development Council to encourage small business development and job creation for Morton. The Morton MicroGrant fund is made possible through a directed contribution by Morton Community Bank.
