Sam Leman Breaks Ground on New 40,000 sf Building in Morton

Friday, July 18, 2014

Sam Leman Automotive broke ground on their new building, located on Courtland Avenue next to the new Farm & Fleet, on Thursday, July 10th in Morton, Illinois. "Our decision to build a new building was primarily the result of Sam Leman's belief that Morton will continue to support our business and the new location on Courtland will be easier for our loyal customers outside of Morton to access," said Todd Braker, COO for Sam Leman Automotive.

Sam Leman's new building on Courtland Avenue will be approximately 40,000 square feet or 35% larger than their current facility on Detroit Street.  The additional space will allow for a more spacious showroom and customer lounge along with a significantly larger Parts and Service area.  In addition, the layout of their lot will allow additional flexibility to display both new and used cars and trucks.  "Our current facility on Detroit Street is nearly 45 years old and will not adequately meet our customer's future needs," said Braker.  "We are excited to be moving to the retail center of our community and are looking forward to continuing our proximity to Farm & Fleet."

Sam Leman Automotive hopes to move into their new location by June 1, 2015.  The larger center will generate more tax revenue for the community and new employment.  "With the natural synergies resulting from our proximity to regional retail destinations such as Walmart and Farm & Fleet, we plan on expanding our market share and increasing our Parts & Service business," said Braker.  "This will result in Sam Leman furthur expanding employment opportunties as our business grows."
