The Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) supports Illinois workers’ efforts to upgrade their skills in order to remain current in new technologies and business practices, enabling companies to remain competitive, expand into new markets and introduce more efficient technologies into their operations. ETIP grants may reimburse Illinois companies for up to 50 percent of the cost of training their employees. Grants may be awarded to individual businesses, intermediary organizations operating multi-company training projects and original equipment manufacturers sponsoring multi-company training projects for employees of their Illinois supplier companies.

The Employers’ Association is a not-for-profit membership organization serving the employer community in 60 counties throughout Illinois and bordering communities in Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Thy work with the management staff of nearly 600 member companies to provide information, guidance, training, and human resource services.

Career Link is a non-profit organization that administers the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, a federal job training program.  This organization provides apprenticeship assistance, career transition, incumbent worker training, job postings, and on-the-job training for businesses in Fulton, Marshall, Mason, McClean, Peoria, Tazewell, Stark and Woodford Counties.

The Illinois Workforce Information Center is a dynamic and interactive information system that contains a wide range of information about the labor market and economic conditions for Illinois and local areas.  Available information includes wages by occupation and industry; jobs that are growing or declining; unemployment rates; employers by occupation and industry; and employment trends.  Includes easy to use career exploration tools and occupational profiles, career videos, information on education and training programs and much more.

The GP Pathways program aims to connect middle- and high-schoolers with the region’s most in-demand careers to drive more informed post-secondary decisions. 

llinois WorkNet
Illinois WorkNet is a portal for connecting employers and job seekers and expanding economic opportunity in Illinois. The portal is a cooperative effort between state economic development, workforce development, education agencies, and local workforce investment boards along with their public and private partners including local governments, community colleges and non-profit organizations. It is designed to provide easy access to information and services through a network of public and private partners.

Illinois Central College
Illinois Central College, our local community college, provides an affordable and flexible avenue to quality education for citizens in the Peoria Area. Their East Peoria Campus is located near the intersection of Routes 24 and 116, just east of the Illinois River and their Peoria Campus is located near the riverfront amidst the flair and activity in the heart of downtown.  Some ICC students pursue occupational certificates while others obtain their associate’s degrees and transfer to four-year colleges or universities. Still others seek to improve current skills or simply take courses for personal enrichment.

Bradley University
Bradley University, an independent, privately endowed, fully accredited coeducational institution, was founded in 1897 in Peoria. It became a four-year college in 1920 and in 1946 became a university and began offering graduate programs.  Bradley offers over 100 undergraduate programs among five colleges including the Foster College of Business Administration; Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts; College of Education and Health Sciences; College of Engineering and Technology; and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.  They also offer over 30 graduate programs including an AACSB-accredited MBA program, an Executive MBA, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
